Beautiful Bar Stools
Wherever you have a high dining surface, a bar stool is a handy way to provide some seating without taking up too much room. The rise of the bar stool has been a big story of the past decade, with kitchen breakfast bars becoming a trend for rushed city types to down their porridge before braving the commute.
There are a few considerations when you’re choosing a bar stool, so let’s go through them one by one.
First, there’s the height. Tall bar stools can be a struggle for kids or people with mobility issues, so bear that in mind when you’re choosing. Many of them are adjustable, which is achieved via a hydraulic lever beneath the seat, so you can make it your own if you like. Most bar stools also come with a footrest, for those who don’t want to leave their calves dangling – it can also help you to mount the chair, too.
Second, do you want it to swivel? It’s very common for a bar stool to rotate 360 degrees, and it’s a great feature that can help you get on it and then twist it around to face the table. Not all do rotate, though, in the traditional bar stool style. They’re still high, but because they’re in a fixed position, you might find yourself having to squeeze into a space to get your legs under the table.
Finally, there’s the style. We're Quatropi, so you just know there are going to be dozens of ultra-modern designs to choose from. Stools also come with or without backs, and the back itself can be a full chair height or, most commonly, just reach the small of your back to provide some support and stop you slipping backwards.
In terms of looks, you can go for the complete brushed metal cocktail bar look, which is always a popular choice, or you can choose something drawn more from cafe culture, a quilted fabric look that’s always cool.
So if you’ve got yourself a high table or breakfast bar, you’re going to need at least one of these wonderful bar stools. They’re an effortlessly cool addition to any kitchen or dining room, and make for handy extra seats when you’re entertaining guests. Available in a range of contemporary or classic styles, there’s definitely one that will fit neatly into your home.
